Define a traceable problem

Gather the transaction reference, supporting document, affected account and an explanation of what you expected compared with what appears. The observation might involve duplicate recording, an unclear classification, a reconciliation difference or an unexplained opening balance. These are possibilities to investigate, not a diagnosis of your case or ready-made journal instructions.

The Companies Law requires a company to maintain accounting records and supporting documents relating to its activities, contracts and financial statements. This is why a correction request should connect to supporting evidence rather than only a screenshot of the final balance.

Separate where a difference appears from what caused it

Observation What merits examination before requesting treatment
Bank and book balances do not agree Documents, transactions and unresolved reconciliation items
A customer balance is unclear Invoices, receipts and their allocation to the account
Reports show the same transaction differently Report settings, accounts and reporting period
A difference began after migration The balances and data transferred, and their source

This table organizes the question. No observation establishes that a particular journal amendment is the solution or that new software is necessary.

Do not use a blanket entry to hide an unexplained difference

As a practical precaution, avoid bulk changes or replacing balances before documenting and understanding the difference. Retain a copy of the reports and data to be examined, and ask the professional responsible to explain the proposed treatment, its supporting evidence and expected effect.

If the observation concerns a closed period or statements already issued, disclose that explicitly to the professional firm so it can assess the appropriate treatment. This article does not prescribe standards-based treatment of prior-period errors or an entry suitable for every case.

Separate diagnosis from correction work

Aleem examines the system and accounts within the agreed scope and provides a report of identified problems. Receiving that report does not mean entries have been changed or recurring work has started. If you want the problems addressed, a separate proposal defines the required work. Bookkeeping and professional cleanup within its scope are assigned to the accredited partner firm, not to Aleem.

When comparing cleanup proposals, ask for the periods, accounts and documents covered, how proposed entries will be presented and approved, and the reports you will receive afterwards. Do not assume historical cleanup is automatically included in a recurring engagement.

Start with the problem at Aleem

If you do not know what caused unclear entries or balances, request an Accounting System Health Check first. If bookkeeping cleanup is needed, request a defined scope under Bookkeeping and Financial Statements through an accredited partner office. You contract with and pay the partner directly; it performs and signs the professional work. Aleem follows through to delivery without a referral commission.
